Take a picture of a poster and the app will bring you to the IMDb page of the movie.

You will be redirected to the IMDb page of the actor or the movie.

How does it work?

Take a picture of a poster.
You can download it on the Internet or take it directly with your phone. Using the OCR technology, the App will recognize the letters written in the title. It will then be compared with the IMDb movie database's titles. You'll then have access to the link redirecting you to the page of the movie on IMDb.


Take a picture of the movie.
It can be a screenshot, a picture you found on the Internet, actually anything with the face of an actor on it. Thanks to this ml5 tool, the App will be able to recognize the face or the faces on the image. Then, the selected face will be compared to the IMDb actors database through the same process. The picture of the actors being associated with their IMDb page, you'll then have access to the link redirecting you to the page of the actor on IMDb.

Posenet can be used to detect the actor's position in order to have a more accurate detection and reduce the mistakes made by the A.I. It can be used if videos are added to the App. The App will therefore be able to detect the actor's movement and his face. Here's a quick start example of this tool extracted from the Posenet page on ml5:

Here's the result on a picture with a single person. It also works with two or more people.

The programm must first be "trained" with some actor's movements but will then be able to it in complete autonomy.
